This is the way the world ends, not with a bang, nor a whimper… The world ends with a boring meeting, a terrible cup of coffee, the urgent need for a fix, a hard-won promotion… The world ends as any other day begins… then come the low moans and the truth you refuse to believe… then comes the killing…

All Flesh Must Be Eaten is published by Eden Studios. “Coffee Break of the Living Dead” was written by Ben Monroe. The opening excerpt from “Paranoia” is by Purple Planet ( Music: http://www.purple-planet.com )

The Whartson Hall Aethernauts play through the Google+ Hangouts facility rather than face-to-face in a room. Despite our best efforts, listeners may find some reduction in sound quality as a result. No American accents were harmed during the making of this podcast. Several were brutally murdered, however.

    The Players:

    Nick: The Zombie Master

    Amelia: Nicole Kowalsky, executive

    Martin: Manny, vagrant

    Jon:Neville Roberts, salesman

Thanks for the audio, Hal & Whartsies. 🙂 Finally, we get to hear about @[member=”Martimus”] and his “bum with a crack problem”, as BJB so eloquently put it.

Ooh! Why-Aye-Man gets mentioned during the pre-game banter, grand times.

Hopefully, one of the zombie mobs will turn out to be scooter-riding nonagenarians, so you can create the “greatest zombie movie chase scene of all time” that BJB predicted

after Isis described the dinky little scooter her character putters around on – and it will probably look a lot like this:

When @[member=lordof1] explained what the word ‘contemporary’ means, it brought back fond memories of Fin’s rant soliloquy on that topic, back in… Was it during the World’s Largest Dungeon? Or perhaps a Yoggie recording? @[member=Fin] has been in everything – including all the audio. 😉

The one where Fin goes on about the correct use of ‘contemporary’ re: archaeological whatnots, and whether the phrase “This half of a Roman sandal is contemporary” means that it’s contemporary with another thingummy in the display case, or that’s it’s contemporary to the present day, or… or… RAAAGH! and then he just

This is a nice intro and build up to the imminent zombie laden apocalypse. A particular shout out for the line “all going a bit Omen II” or words to that effect concerning the prospect of…. No, I can’t tell you, you’ll have to listen!

Carl was VERY sweary though! 😉

Enjoying listening to this. Found the determination of BJB to ensure that he wasn’t parted from his motorcycle leathers despite Lordof1’s best efforts amusing. It was almost as if he had suffered loss in a previous game…..

Thank goodness I never carry over petty grumbles from one game to the next, eh? 😉

How many times has BJB played a washed-up, down-on-his-luck, has-been two-bit actor? 😉 Cyborg, from the Whartstock Hero System: Tech Team game, was another prime example. Solomon Knight from the recent Steam Pirates game was somewhat more talented than either Cyborg or Neville, but still seemed to fit the description, somehow.

Is BJB type-casting himself? (And will it make him go blind, or just give him hairy palms?)

BJB: “Let’s rewind to a 35-year-old man, wearing no pants.”

    Lordof1: “Well… Let’s fast-forward, just a little bit.”

BJB: “You wanted horror! You wanted grim reality!”

    Martimus: “And you got it.”

You can tell that @[member=”lordof1″] has a proper scientific background, because when he’s running a game, he makes sure to use the correct and officially approved units of measurement:

    • ‘3/4 of Fuck All’ – A small vial of heroin (when found in a hobo’s pocket).
    • ‘Roughly the size of Gwyneth Paltrow’s severed head’ – The size of something that’s smaller than a whale.

Shamefully I forgot the universally approved ‘football-pitch’ scale of measurement, too. And on reflection a vial of heroin is more 50% of fuck all.

Looking forward to getting my teeth into the charact… err, I mean the next session.

What can I say, he swears when he’s nervous… I will try and tone down the language for next session. Or at least get him eaten to death early on 🙂

At this rate, it won’t be long before all the D&D and Pathfinder groups will be measuring combat in microKardashians, rather than 6-second combat rounds. 😉

Unless, of course, you define the Kardashian as a unit of attention span, rather than time.

…And you still haven’t explained the conversion rate between Paltrow-heads and the Furlong/Firkin/Fortnight system.
