    Nice!

I actually saw one of your maps the other day and decided to add clickable bits on the map fragmet I included in the Session Notes…. so… many thanks for giving me the idea! I have you to thank for that.

    😀

I finally managed to Post Session 14 up on my site. The only map that has changed in Map B. The group spent the entire time wandering around there.

There was a lot of ambiguity as regards to the rooms with no numbers that were randomly generated so I just placed notes close to each other.

Hopefully we will see session 15 soon?

I’ve updated the maps. See the first message in this thread for details. I will simply edit it in the future.

Excellent! Thanks Tom, we missed B11? Oh dear!

Maps work great in Internet Explorer, but not sure about Firefox.

Please do keep going, it a great record and certainly make me laugh & smile!

I’m using Firefox, and the maps don’t work at all for me… I see the map picture, but nothing’s clickable.

The maps are made with XML and some JavaScript. It could be that Firefox has a security level turned on disabling that feature. I’m not sure because I use IE.

I can’t believe JavaScript is turned off because that would kill about half the sites you visit so my remote diagnosis is XML. Do you have the latest version of Firefox? Older browsers don’t understand XML at all. Even IE 6.0 has problems with certain features of it.

    Good luck,

    Tom

The problem is likely my use of unvalidated XML. To make XML valid you have to create a “Schema” for it and I never bothered with it because it is for personal use.

Apparently Firefox wants Valid XML (rather than simply XML that works). It is rather a lot of work.

Let me ask, does the map show up with blue boxes around the numbers where you are supposed to click?

Nope, no blue boxes at all.

After a bit of research I’ve learned that Firefox doesn’t handle a fairly large number of things the way IE does. I am unable to figure out why my maps (and other pages on my website) do not work in Firefox but it is certainly my JavaScript and XML.

At first I thought it was my onclick() event but the absence of the blue boxes indicates deeper troubles.

I have no solutions for you other than to use IE. You likely do not want to take this step so I’m afraid there is nothing to be done. Someone who knows what they are doing might be able to spot the problem but it is beyond me.

Heh, curse IE for not adhering to standards =)
