I recall hearing about that in 5th come to think of it, they have cantrips which can do damage right? If that’s the same as pathfinder it sounds like a good balance.

Haven’t read the rules yet, but based on the 5E Actual Play podcasts that have been released, it seems that wizards can choose various cantrips that can deliver a whopping 1d10 points of damage per pop. 😮 Of course, they still have to hit with them, and given the average arcanist’s combat proficiency, a Magic Missile with 1d4+1 automatic no-fail damage would still be better, but even so, it’s pretty damn effective – especially since they can just keep casting cantrips all day long.

Good old TnT has a novel solution for those fragile magic-users.

    Put armour on them!

Don’t they also need to boost their Strength stat to be better able to cast spells? BJB mentioned in one of the T&T recordings on the site that, by 6th level, a T&T wizard will have turned into Schwarzenegger. 🙂

In earlier editions yes 🙂 My understanding is that it was a popular house rule to introduce a separate mana stat – this became canon in later editions.

I believe that this should generally be regarded as a Good Thing.

It seems to have contributed to a sort of primary stat blume however. The latest edition I have of TnT (7.5) has 8 primary stats. This seems a lot to me.

Yeah, more tabletop RPGs should follow TV Tropes’ example and only include the one ability that you really need:

“I put all my skill points into ‘Knowledge – Game Master’.”

T&T has a 5th level spell called Dear God, allowing you to directly ask questions of the GM.

Specialising in ‘Disable Plot’ is often all a pc needs. Savvy players don’t bother with actual knowledge and simply plan ahead with Profession: GM’s Life Partner 😉

And then there’s the 2nd level healing spell, Poor Baby. 🙂 (Presumably, the somatic component of the spell consists of either patting the target on the head, or pinching their cheek.)

Is that a not-so-subtle jab at @[member=”Hal”] and his life partner? Because Ruby doesn’t deserve that kind of sarcasm, thankyewverrahmuch. 😉

Was it ever determined if the back up recording had better audio quality?

I’m still waiting for it to be sent over… so I think we can safely say that this is the one we’re sticking with 🙂
