I don’t think much could make me happier than a session from the RPGMP3 Professionals.

I’m putting in an unexpected day in the office today and this will be really nice to listen to while I’m stuck in on Saturday.

With lengths like these the only correct word IS Epic, but I’m hardly complaining. Love it.

We did indeed record more after this, but I think we just decided to label it as Session 5.

It’s like a bonus of riches… erm… yes… is that the right way to say that? I no longer care. Hearing Hal and Lindsay venturing back into a “big dungeon” was a fun little experience.

Congratulations on upping the number of YGGernaut game references, Lockhart 🙂 – you managed to name-drop Tomb of Haggemoth, Jade Regent and Ptolus, all within a 5-minute timespan. Admittedly, the players helped you by steering the conversation in the direction of one of the recurring themes in the Yorkton Gamer games (i.e. brothels).

It’s a shame that Hal is treating the NPC hired help like dirt, Jack was much nicer to Brunst in the Ptolus game. It’s nice to see the big lug’s still earning a sideline in the rat catching industry, though. Is Brunst one of your own creations, or did he spill over from the canon Ptolus book or some other game book you’ve previously used? By the way, is his name spelled Brunsk or Brunst? It sounds like the latter when you pronounce it, so I’m gonna go with that version (also for etymological reasons).

The episode in Tomb of Haggemoth you mentioned, the one where Aimee placed the two slave girls she saved in her inventory, got even worse when she promised to remove them from the inventory.

Next session: “Aimee, did you write down the names of the two slave girls?”

“Oh, whoops – they’re still in my inventory.”

Also, she forgot their real names, so she gave them new names (they had been placed in magical bondage and compelled to follow her every whim, it’s not like they were gonna complain about it). Next session, she couldn’t remember the slave names she gave them. To be fair, she did go out of her way to treat them humanely and not just as cardboard cutouts …most of the time, anyway. Although Pasha Fuzzball was really surprised when Aimee got the Bracers of Enslavement off of the girls’ wrists, and offered to demonstrate how they worked: “C’mere, pasha – hold out your hands, I’ve got a magic item I want to show you…” 😈

Currently I’ve been writing and pronouncing as Brunsk. I’d have to check back in my notes to see what his original name from Ptolus was. He’s changed a bit in this incarnation but he remains my own little creation. I liked the idea of a down-on-his luck barbarian who just wanted to get hired for a good job and have a good reputation for his work ethic, but kept having the worst luck in the jobs he was hired for. Doesn’t seem to have changed much in that regard from Ptolus to Magnimar.

I have to say I’m notorious for clinging closely and making constant references to things from past campaigns. I like reusing stuff that has been well received from the past.

Heh, I need to get those session of Tomb of Haggemoth ready for Patron release….but more Jade Regent editing first…

Let’s hope the players never discover what Brunsk did to his last employers, or they’ll seriously start to regret hiring him. 😉
