Aru watches as a campfire spoils food. Then she faces her greatest enemy yet. A giant camp fire so large it has engulfed an entire dwelling and intends to spoil all the contents before she can get to taste any of them. This turns out to be Balgin’s favourite session of the campaign so far.
Featuring Tarstarkes as the GM
Balgin – Keldrack Morden, gruff dwarven stonelord
Shari – Aru the wild girl (and her wolf)
Wesley – Brandt Zyphos, surly drunken mercenary
Thanks for the audio. 🙂 If you want to help your listeners enjoy the experience, you might want to consider mixing the two audio tracks into a single combined track – if people listen with only one ear (while at work, for example, or if their headphones are defective, or if they’ve got decreased sense of hearing in one ear), they’ll either have to give up Balgin’s comments, or everyone else in the recording.
It was quite amusing to hear the grouchy dwarf complaining about humans being incompetent, even when they’re setting fire to buildings – they should toss the torches on thatched roof, not just through the windows.
Also, a psychiatrist could probably get much material out of the fact that, when the GM mentioned that the PCs had found something that looked like a “giant poop-hole”, @[member=”Balgin”] immediately said “or mouth”. :O
Oh, and now the Happy Rocks can join the ranks of gaming groups where one or more player has a small child they need to look after, roaming in the background. The Whartsies is the second-latest (re)addition to that club, IIRC – Martin used to have his littlun bouncing around, but since he’s hardly ever around, it’s now @[member=”lordof1″] who’s got the newest pup in the litter. (Amusingly, the gaming vet decided to name the kid “Elliot”, presumably as the French-Japanese pronounciation of “Herriot“.) 😉
